Shooting Star Wreath

My five year old daughter, Harper, came into the world with a big personality, impeccable comedic timing, and a very sophisticated, avant garde sense of humor. She is notorious for her wild requests. For her 3rd birthday she requested "a mustache-tiger-fish party" (I'll give you a minute to picture that)
Last year's Christmas list:
1. a candy cane
2. a rainbow
3. a banana
4. a rusty old sock
This year's Christmas list:
1. REAL hot pink roller skates (we bought her "fake ones" that strap over her shoes last Christmas)
2. Short black hair (she is a dirty blond with long, wavy hair)
3. A shooting star
No sweat. Color me inspired...
Materials:
painted cardboard scraps, cut into strips
glue gun (for big kids) or white school glue (for littles)

1. Cut out the center of your paper plate.
2. Gather your paper strips. If you have a paper cutter at home it will cut your prep time down by a lot.
3. Start gluing your strips around your paper plate wreath.
4. Fill in your spaces and layer your strips.
5. Add your paper stars. I decided to go with white stars in the center of the wreath.
But you could also scatter your stars and paint them gold:
